On 19th August 2022, Nepal’s first-ever Human Milk Bank (Amrit Kosh) opened to assure child-friendly health systems and give premature, low birth weight and other at-risk newborns access to the vast benefits of breast milk when needed the most. Milk Bank situated at the Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, Thapathali has already started its service to reach large numbers of needed infants. However, people are still curious about its effectiveness and importance.
